Steven Spielberg quiere pedir disculpas a todos los tiburones por la prensa negativa que les ha dado su taquillera película Tiburón.

Por supuesto, fue la película más taquillera de su época, ganó tres premios de la Academia y disparó la extraordinaria carrera del director, pero desde su estreno, Tiburón ha perjudicado a la población de tiburones.

El thriller de 1975, basado en la novela homónima de Peter Benchley, dio a conocer a un nuevo asesino mortal y sembró el miedo en el público de Estados Unidos y otros países.

Antes del estreno de la película, los tiburones no eran vistos como la amenaza sangrienta que son hoy, pero una vez que Spielberg puso sus manos en Tiburón, se acabó el juego.

"Lamento de verdad y hasta el día de hoy haber diezmado la población de tiburones a causa del libro y la película. Lo lamento de verdad", dijo Spielberg durante su intervención en el programa Desert Island Discs de la BBC con Lauren Laverne.
