La primera actriz de la televisión venezolana Maricarmen Regueiro finalmente regresa a la luz pública, en una entrevista concedida al periodista Luis Olavarrieta, luego de 21 años de ausencia mediática. “Señora”, “El desprecio” y “Carísima” son algunas de las telenovelas con las que logró ganarse el corazón de la audiencia en países como Perú y Argentina. Su abrupta despedida de la televisión se motivó a su embarazo y posterior crianza de sus hijos. “La vida de una mamá es complicada, pero tienes que hacerla, porque son tus hijos y los tienes que atender (…) Yo siempre le pongo toda la energía a una sola cosa”, asegura. Aunque siempre tuvo la oportunidad de regresar, confiesa que se quedó con ganas de nuevos papeles, de volver a hacer lo que más le apasiona: actuar. Sin embargo, le produjo un poco de pesar el trato que se le daba a los actores y actrices con cierta trayectoria, frente a los nuevos y jóvenes talentos.  

Sobre su regreso a la palestra pública después de esta “pausa”, Maricarmen Regueiro expresó que “me contactaron para una obra, y luego de leerla, me encantó el personaje”. Aunque dudó en un principio, terminó preguntándose “¿Por qué no? Si tengo el tiempo ahorita, ¿por qué no?”, y dio el paso para participar nuevamente en el teatro. En tono jocoso, resalta la gente la reconoce más afuera del país que en Venezuela. Sin embargo, reconoce que esta pausa de la actuación también sirvió para resguardar un poco su vida privada y su familia. “Yo preferí quedarme callada por muchas razones… Algún día se conocerán esas razones (…) A todos nos puede pasar cualquier cosa”.

Mi casa es Venezuela

A Maricarmen Regueiro le producen gracia los comentarios de la gente que dice que abandonó el país. Cuando le tocaba trabajar en el exterior, mantenía su maleta lista para el regreso porque “no veía la hora de venirme a mi casa”. A pesar de contar con una excelente trayectoria profesional, asegura mantener domado el ego. “Yo tuve el privilegio de que todas las producciones en las que estuve tuvieron éxito”, y atribuye eso al buen trabajo de los escritores, por encima del desempeño de los actores. “El ego no te deja vivir ni relacionarte con los demás (…) yo no me siento más que nadie”.

Al ser consultada sobre la telenovela que más la satisfizo, señala que “todas me dieron alegrías, todas me dieron buenos compañeros. Sí hay papeles que te cuestan más que otros, que son más difíciles, pero yo tenía la energía para eso. Cada una tuvo su maravilla”. Cuando habla sobre RCTV, le invade la nostalgia. “Era lindo llegar y ver esas grandes figuras esperando por ti. Fui profundamente afortunada”, recuerda Maricarmen Regueiro.

“Sigo adelante con mi familia, con mucha fuerza y mucha ilusión de que las cosas mejoren para todos, porque nos lo merecemos.
